We currently hold a Green Tourism Business Scheme(GTBS) Silver Award at a high level and aim to become as sustainable as we possibly can.
The introduction to our grading visit by GTBS is as follows:-
'A very good entry into the scheme for Doxford Cottages. The buildings have been recently redeveloped and as such all the appliances, boilers, windows, doors etc are all new so the cottages are very energy efficient. There is extensive use of green cleaning products and recycled papers in housekeeping.'
'There is good work being done for wildlife on-site. They have an excellent website with lots of information included. The cottages are in a very nice setting with a lake nearby and woodland for guests to explore on the permissive paths.'
It is our hope that guests will join us in a "green approach" as we aware that many of you have consider to be a worthwhile aim.
We have been given a range of suggestions as to how to become a more sustainable business and we hope to implement as many as possible of these in the future.
