Expectations were high from the information obtained via Premier Cottages and the website, but Swinney Cottage even managed to surpass them. It was a lot bigger than we were expecting and the location could not be any better. The grounds are stunning and the trampoline and tractors an unexpected bonus for the boys (5 and 2 years old). All in all a wonderful holiday cottage and in the words of the 5 year old "the best holiday place - ever!"

We stayed here last year and had such a good time we booked for this year before we even left. With so much to do you just can't get bored, the games room and field is great for children of all ages. Highly recommend.

First impressions, the whole place has that "wow" factor. Sue provided a lovely friendly face and was extremely helpful when showing us Fox Cover and the other amenities.The cottage itself is stunning,both Anne and I have stayed in many cottages in the past, but this is by far the best ever.For a 2 person cottage there is so much space and it is so well furnished. The grounds are wonderful, so much wildlife and so peaceful and all of Northumbria on the doorstep.

What a find!
Following research (on the net) of properties for our first visit to Northumbria, we decided to come to Doxford.
Our expectations were high but they have been exceeded in every way.The location is a sheer delight. Sue's welcome, Shellrig Cottage and the lovely grounds are all 'gold standard'.
We certainly feel that we have struck gold!

Having holidayed at many venues,apartments,flats etc we can state that Doxford Cottages are the best we have visited. The facilities in the cottages are 5 star,the cleanliness,the surroundings cannot be beaten.
