This was our third holiday at Doxford Cottages. We have now stayed in Doxford House, Coach House and Shellrig. Each one is bespoke and leaves you with a dilemma as to which one to return to, but return you have to. You are compelled to relax from arrival to departure, views of the lake and wildlife surround you. This visit has allowed us to see the resident swans evicting their cygnets, from their beautiful home. |

Swinney Cottage Very impressed with the spaciousness, cleanliness and decor.Loved watching red squirrels on the feeder. Felt relaxed the minute we walked into the lounge. After years of searching I think we have found the perfect bolt hole! |

I really don't know why we're doing this - we should be keeping Doxford a big secret !! We had a brilliant long weekend in December, and having stayed in other 'luxury' lets, we can say that Doxford is right up there with the best. All fixtures & fittings are of the highest quality and the position is simply fantastic. Congratulations on the thought & time you have put into the place, and continued success - a hidden gem but for how long ? |

An excellent property (Wellwood), in a very attractive location. We enjoyed watching the wildlife (particularly the red squirrels),from our vantage point in the conservatory area of the kitchen. The log burning stove was ready to go and roaring within minutes. Great base for exploring Northumberland and beyond. We will definately be back! |

First impressions were "wow". It looked good on the website, but surpassed on actually seeing it. The welcome and guidance was perfect, there when needed, but no pressures. The cottage (Shellrig) was immaculate and perfect for our requirements, including our 6 month old baby. The kitchen had everything we could've possibly needed and the log burner provided a real country feel with warmth and cozyness. We had lots of fun lighting and stoking it. The location was ideal, easy to get to from the south, yet far enough away from the A1 to be no bother. Very convenient for all the fantastic bays, towns and beaches. |
